Saturday, July 25, 1:00 - 5:00pm. "
Neo-Shamanic Energetics," with Marc Felix, Ph.D., psychotherapist and former Clinical Director of the American Pain Foundation.
After completing a shamanic apprenticeship with an Apache Medicine Chief, Marc moved away from the 'diagnosis and treatment' models of mainstream psychology. This workshop is an introduction to a developing new paradigm that combines elements of ancient shamanism, archetypal psychology, and contemporary quantum theory. This is a powerful alternative to the Newtonian model of reality that limits most people, including many professional healthcare practitioners. The workshop will include exercises for putting the model into practice. In this intensive, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the problem with 'diagnosis and treatment,' the problem with 'symptoms,' and the problem with 'problems'; also, the collective unconscious and some ways to use it; and the role of grace, miracles, and playfulness in relationship to health.
Sunday, July 26, 9:00 - 10:30am. "The Power of Breath."
Terry Miller, CST, will lead “The Power of Breath.” This workshop

She is also the host of the weekly wellness radio show on WRFR, "Living a Good Life."

Saturday, August 1, 10:00 - 2:00pm. "Ancestral Foods Workshop / World Foods Workshop", with holistic nutrition counselor Holly Noonan.
Part 1: Ancestral Foods Workshop.
This is a workshop that illuminates our current food trends by placing them in historical context. It has been said that our food has changed more in the last 30 years than in the previous 30,000 years. In what ways has it changed? Are our bodies having a hard time keeping up? What were the traditional foods passed down in your family and how far back does the tradition go? Has the recent globalization of our food supply affected your family? This workshop introduces some ancestral food recipes and tells you where to get the ingredients locally.
Part 2: World Foods Workshop.
After lunch, a nutrition workshop that illuminates our current food trends by placing them in international context. Take a peek inside the kitchens of families in ten foreign countries with a powerpoint slideshow to see what they eat and what it looks like. These families and their countries are in various stages of “modernization.” How much food comes in packages? How much is refined or imported vs. fresh and local? How much meat do they eat? How much sugar? What oil do they use for cooking? Do a little armchair traveling around the world to explore our world’s foodscape, and then bring it home to your kitchen. This workshop introduces some exotic food recipes and tells you where to get the ingredients locally. Please bring a bag lunch.
Sunday, August 2, 9:00 - 10:30am. "Moving Meditation"
The practice of 5Rhythms dancing, often described as moving meditation, was created in the late 1960s by Gabrielle Roth, who distinguished five rhythms common to all humans. When she combined these rhythms together in a waveas a natural progression of energy, Gabrielle discovered they can liberate the free creative spirit inside each of us, regardless of our age, size or physical ability. There are no steps to follow, no choreography to learn, no way to do it wrong. The practice of 5Rhythms dancing has spread around the world, and one of the strongest centers is right here in Maine. Join Anna Witholt-Abaldo for a great way to wrap up your weekend. Anna is a professional member of the 5Rhythms® Teachers Association and the American Dance Therapy Association.
